Other Updates & Reminders
- Visit T3C Ready at www.T3CReady.orgExternal Link, an initiative of the Single Source Continuum Contractors (SSCCs) and the Texas Alliance of Child & Family Services (TACFS). T3C Ready has valuable information to help providers actively prepare for the transition, including a T3C Readiness Assessment tool, learning opportunities, and other resources. Many previously held T3C Learning Sessions have been recorded and are available for providers at the Texas Alliance Online Learning CenterExternal Link.
- TACFS and DFPS are excited to partner together in virtual T3C Office Hours! T3C Office Hours are regularly scheduled and allow Licensed Providers to drop in and ask any questions about T3C. Whether you’ve got a question about T3C requirements, updated Blueprints, credentialing, FAQ, rates and funding, events and training, or anything else T3C, drop in and ask us! T3C Office Hours are available for Licensed Providers only and will allow providers to ask burning questions and learn from the experience of others. Office Hours will occur weekly for the first quarter of 2025. There is no need to register. You can join the call using this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81938258228External Link
- TACFS hosts a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Community. New year, new series! In 2024, TACFS offered a monthly training series called CQI Lab, where we covered the fundamentals of conducting CQI in an agency setting through virtual education sessions. Those sessions are available for free on the TACFS Online Learning CenterExternal Link. In 2025, we are re-envisioning our CQI support as a facilitated learning community rather than a training series. If you're interested in being part of the CQI Community, please registerExternal Link for and attend the first session on February 4th at 9:00 a.m. The only agenda for the first session will be brainstorming what you'd like to get from the CQI Community. We're here to support you, so please come tell us how we can best do that. Future sessions will occur on the first Tuesday of each month.

Update on Interim Credentialing Applications
DFPS is excited to share that beginning on December 10th, 2024, the T3C Credentialing Platform will be open, and the Department will begin accepting applications for the Interim Credential, for Child Placing Agencies and for General Residential Operations.
DFPS has posted the Interim Credentialing Applications on the Interim Credentialing page.
To expedite the initiation of the Interim Credentialing Application process ahead of the January 2025 timeframe, DFPS has built the application as a Microsoft Word document, and offers the following list of tips for completion.
- Read all instructions and the application in its entirety prior to beginning the process of completion.
- Ensure that only one check box is marked per question. The Interim Credential Application has been developed in a format that does not require a single “Yes”, “No”, or “NA” response per question, but rather allows a respondent to check more than one. Providers must pay special attention to ensure that there is only one response marked per question, unless it is a question that specifically allows multiple options to be selected with the inclusion of “and/or” language. Marking multiple answers to a single question that does not permit multiple options will invalidate the response and require follow-up by the provider, which will unnecessarily delay processing of the Interim Credential Application.
- When possible complete the Interim Credential Application using a system that is compatible with Microsoft Office. Both the Application and the Credentialing Platform are built using Microsoft as the foundation. If this is not possible, the provider must use a workaround as described in the “Helpful Tips” document found under the Interim Credentialing page.
As outlined in the T3C System Blueprint 4th EditionPDF Document, which was released in November 2024, having an Interim or Full Credential is necessary to offer any one of the twenty-four Service Packages or three Add-On Services under the Texas Child-Centered Care (T3C) System. The Full Credential Application process is anticipated to begin in January 2025.
DFPS hosted a webinar to walk through the process for using the T3C Credentialing Platform on December 16, 2024. View recording and presentation:
