Active Cullompton: Culm Valley Temporary Closure.
The leisure centre at Culm Valley is currently closed. A number of travellers have arrived at the site and we have decided not to open for the safety of our staff and customers. We appreciate this is an inconvenience to our customers and the Council has begun the legal process to move the travellers on. In the meantime we thank you for your patience and understanding. We are continuing to look at what, if any, steps we can take to prevent such a closure again and considering ways to minimise disruption to our loyal customers, although this is difficult as we need to maintain access to our car parks for our customers.
Our sites and Active Tiverton (Exe Valley) and Active Crediton (Lords Meadow) are open as usual.
Active Tiverton (Exe Valley) One Day Closure: Thursday 1 May
As part of the planned improvement work to the poolside changing rooms at Active Tiverton (Exe Valley) contractors have discovered a pipe issue which requires the water supply to be turned off to the whole site, before it can be replaced. This means the centre will have to close temporarily to allow the fix to take place, as we will not have toilets in use or running water. We have timed the work to allow after school swimming lessons to continue as normal and the centre is due to reopen to all leisure users at 3:45pm. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and hope you can bear with us while these improvement works take place. We are looking forward to using the new facilities which are coming soon to Active Tiverton, but if you wish to continue to use our facilities on Thursday, please head over to Active Crediton or Active Cullompton.
Mid Devon is Now Active
A new leisure journey has begun in Mid Devon with the launch of Active Mid Devon.
Active Mid Devon is about getting more people more active, as well as being active in our communities. Our staff at all three sites, in Cullompton, Tiverton and Crediton undertake customer health checks, work with GPs on health referral schemes and encourage clubs to meet and socialise on site. We feel this new name, and a new look, will encompass this and shows our customers that we offer much more than sports halls to hire and swimming sessions to attend.
As part of Active Mid Devon, we have launched a new booking system which gives you greater control over your bookings and account. The booking system will allow customers to manage their classes, view live schedules, pay fees and set up reminders.
Customers will have to register on the new system and create an account to access classes and bookings. It takes just a few minutes and is free to register.
Non-members will be able to view classes online and register, but until our payment system is integrated, which will take place in the coming days, will not be able to book a class or activity online.
Active Mid Devon is on hand when it comes to helping people reach their fitness goals. We have a versatile fitness class programme, free weights and functional training zones, multiple cardio areas, personal training, racquet courts, sports facilities, fitness swimming sessions and more!
Keep active, stay healthy, make friends and learn new skills. Enjoy a healthy and varied lifestyle with Active Mid Devon, where your membership provides you access to each of our three leisure centres. With fantastic facilities, varied programmes and professional, friendly staff, you will enjoy the benefits of living the Active Mid Devon lifestyle.
