The September edition of the JAN Newsletter focuses on suicide prevention. September is National Suicide Prevention Month, "a time to remember the lives lost to suicide, acknowledge the millions more who have experienced suicidal thoughts, and the many individuals, families and communities that have been impacted by suicide. It's also a time to raise awareness about suicide prevention and share messages of hope."
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's NIOSH Science Blog: Critical Steps Your Workplace Can Take Today to Prevent Suicide is the featured resource in this edition of the JAN Newsletter. This resource offers best practices for the prevention of suicide in the workplace. The more employers know and understand mental health conditions and how they can affect the workplace, the better they will be able to provide needed support so employees can remain healthy and successful in the workplace. If additional information is needed, contact JAN.
