Arlington Virginia's Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP) consists of staff and volunteers who conduct benefits counseling, make group presentations, and use a variety of media sources to educate people about Medicare and the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP), which helps Medicare beneficiaries prevent, detect, and report health care fraud, errors, and abuse.

What We Do
VICAP provides free, in-depth, one-on-one insurance counseling to Medicare beneficiaries, their families, friends, and caregivers in Arlington County.
Services include:
- Individual counseling on all parts of Medicare and Medigap Plans
- Medicare classes offered throughout the year
- Help resolving Medicare claims or billing issues
- Assistance with filing for Medicare-related benefits
- Assistance with understanding Medicaid and long-term care insurance
- Assistance with understanding eligibility and applications for low-income assistance programs
