The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) will close Fremont Way at Arlington Heights Road starting May 5 for road reconstruction as part of the Arlington Heights Road Reconstruction Project. The closure is expected to last approximately one month. During construction, traffic may use Heritage Road as an alternate route to access Arlington Heights Road.
As part of the project, a new median will be constructed on Fremont Way to restrict left turns onto Arlington Heights Road to improve safety. Bus, garbage and other daily commute routes should be updated to accommodate this change.
Checker Road westbound at Arlington Heights Road remains closed for ongoing construction.
Recently, crews installed storm sewer laterals between IL 83 and Brittany Lane. Water main and storm sewer removals are continuing throughout the project area. Road excavation has begun along Arlington Heights Road, and storm sewer installation is ongoing.
Please be prepared to stop during pavement operations and use extra caution when traveling through the area.
