 A timeline of important dates for Public Meeting Law updates, showing the public hearing held on August 23rd, a spot marking we are here, public comment ends on September 3rd, legislative comment ends on September 19th, the Commission votes to adopt rules on September 20th, and rules will be officially adopted on October 1st.

The Oregon Government Ethics Commission (OGEC) will start offering Public Meetings Law training after the administrative rules are adopted. We anticipate a lot of interest in this training, and are working to develop resources and multiple training formats.

Our live, instructor led webinars are open to all public officials. After completing this 2.5 hour webinar, you will receive a certificate of completion.

My public body has signed up for training. When will it happen?
There is a lot of interest in Public Meetings Law (PML) trainings! Our team is scheduling trainings now for dates starting in November 2024. We will do our best to accommodate the dates and times of training requests.
Does this training satisfy the training requirement?
Yes, both the online webinars beginning in October and our in-person trainings meet the mandatory training requirements in ORS 192.700. Participants must attend the entire training to receive a certificate of completion. The executive session webinar does NOT fulfill this requirement.
