NSF/AGS December 2024 Update - AGU Outreach

Welcome to meteorological winter and annual conference season. NSF will have a strong presence at next week's meeting of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) in Washington DC. We look forward to seeing everyone at our AGS Town Hall on Monday evening (details below) and at the NSF GEO booth in the Exhibit Hall.

Funding Opportunities

Geosciences Open Science Ecosystem (GEO OSE) - This solicitation supports the development of innovative approaches that foster open, inclusive and equitable scientific practices, enhancing geoscience research, education and capacity building through enhanced information resources and collaborative tools. Track 1 proposals are due February 14, 2025, and Track 2 proposals are due November 14, 2025.

Coupling, Energetics, and Dynamics of Atmospheric Regions (CEDAR) - This updated solicitation moves the target date from May to March annually and includes comparative aeronomy studies of other planet's atmospheres in relation to Earth. The target date for submission is March 5, 2025.

National AI Research Resource (NAIRR) Pilot - This Dear Colleague Letter seeks candidate datasets for inclusion on the NAIRR Pilot portal. The submission deadline is February 7, 2025.

FAQs have been released for the Regional Resilience Innovation Incubator. Letters of Intent are required and due on December 16, 2024.

Outreach Events

AGS will be hosting a Town Hall meeting at the AGU Fall Meeting on Monday, December 9 at 6:00pm Eastern in Salon G of the main Convention Center. The meeting will be in an office hour format with a short introductory talk followed by an open session where attendees can meet and engage with AGS staff.
