CAAA E-News! November 4, 2024
OMWBE, CAAA, CAPAA, CHA sent this bulletin at 11/04/2024 01:34 PM PST
Election day is tomorrow! Cast your ballot! If you have voted, check the status of your ballot at VoteWa.gov.
CAAA visited the Pierce County Elections office on Saturday where voting was very busy and new people were registering! There is still time to register and vote! Anyone turning 18 years old tomorrow can register now. A criminal history doesn't prohibit you from voting if out of custody. County elections offices are open until 8 pm Tuesday. Find your election office.
Submit your completed ballot in the mail or marked ballot box by 8 pm, Tuesday, November 5th. No postage is necessary.
Your vote affects your future self and the lives of our children: Several issues directly affect the Black community directly - criminal justice reform being one of them. Reforms would address the disproportionate effect of the criminal justice system on our community.
Not all candidates support reforms.
No matter what the commercials say, in Washington state, your information is protected: where you registered, your social security number, or any record used to provide identity, age or residential address is not released.
Our role is to advocate for the community to the Governor, state legislature, state agencies and others. Participation is an effective way to become an active voice in our community.
Commissioners serve for a two-year term that can be renewed at the Governor's discretion. Questions? Call 360-725-5664
CAAA will hold its November Public Commission Meeting, Friday, November 8, 2024 1pm to 4pm at the Renton City Library 100 Mill Avenue S. Renton, WA 98057
