The Wyoming OSHA Commission, in consultation with the Department of Workforce Services, is proposing 19 new chapters under a new Oil and Gas Well Drilling, Servicing, Completion, Plugging, and Abandoning program while simultaneously repealing 31 outdated, duplicative, or inconsistent rule chapters. The rules programs being repealed include OSHA-Oil and Gas Well Services, OSHA-Oil and Gas Well Special Servicing, and OSHA-Oil and Gas Well Drilling. The new rules aim to align with federal standards, improve clarity, enhance safety practices, and reflect technological advancements in the industry. In compliance with statutory requirements, the Commission will incorporate references to safety standards from nationally recognized organizations, including API, ANSI, ASME, and NFPA. The Commission unanimously approved the rule changes on March 14, 2025.
