Drought Closures (fishing prohibited 24 hours) are in effect for sections (1, 2, and 5) of the Big Hole River
Water temperatures and flows are measured in Section 1 at USGS gage 06024450 near Wisdom and in Section 2 at DNRC gage 41D 08000 near Wise River.
Stream flows at the DNRC Big Hole River near Wise River gage 06025250 dropped below 100 cfs (Section 2).
Closure criteria is described in the Big Hole Drought Management Plan.
Water temperature and flows are measured at USGS gage 06026420 near Twin Bridges.

A Drought Closure (fishing prohibited 24 hours) is in effect for the North Fork Blackfoot River from USFS boundary downstream to Highway 200 starting September 10.
Streamflows were measured at the DNRC Ryan Bridge Gage 76F 03500 and have remained below critical threshold of 5 cfs since September 1st.
Beaver dams and braided channel morphology have combined with extremely low flows in the hydrologic-losing reach to create conditions that are expected to concentrate adult bull trout as they attempt downstream migrations to the Blackfoot River.
The closure criteria follows the Blackfoot Drought Response Plan.
