2026–2030 DRAFT MONTANA STATEWIDE COMPREHENSIVE OUTDOOR RECREATION PLAN (SCORP)

May 12, 2025 1:44 PM

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) has prepared this draft 2026–2030 Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) for public review and comment. The SCORP identifies outdoor recreation priorities and strategies for the next five years, providing a framework to guide decision-making and investments across Montana.

The SCORP is required to maintain Montana’s eligibility for the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) program and serves as a resource for state, federal, local, and tribal governments, recreation providers, land managers, and community partners.

Key goals of the 2026–2030 SCORP include enhancing trail connectivity, expanding access and inclusivity, conserving natural and cultural resources, addressing infrastructure and maintenance needs, promoting stewardship, and supporting Montana’s outdoor recreation economy.
