2025 Read for a Cause: Animal Welfare of Arlington
For each reader who finishes the Summer Reading Challenge, the Friends of the Arlington Public Library will donate $1 to Animal Welfare League of Arlington, which improves the lives of animals and people by providing resources, care and protection. The Paws and Read program help improve children's literacy and helps shelter pets relax and socialize.
Read for 30 Days to Complete Summer Reading
Completion prizes for all ages:
- Earn a free book OR a coupon for one free book from any Friends of the Library bookstore!
- Earn a voucher for two free tickets to select Washington Nationals games.
- Earn a ticket to select Washington Spirit games.
- Read for a Cause: For every person who completes Summer Reading 2025, the Friends of Arlington Library will donate $1 to Animal Welfare League of Arlington.

Read for an extra 10 days and fulfill one of these challenges to become a Super Reader! Super Readers are entered into a weekly prize drawing from July 11 — Sept 5.

- Go to your library and write down the title of an interesting book you've read this summer
- Do something helpful for your neighbor, family member or community
- Write a letter to a family member, friend, neighbor or community helper to share your thoughts
