Through education, discovery, preservation and community advocacy, these women made lasting impacts on Miami's past, present and future. AnnMarie Henry, Christine Malcolm, and Keith Moore are the team of researchers and producers who created Profiles in Black Miami to tell the story of the people of the African diaspora who built Miami from the mid-19th century to the present day in a series of documentaries.

The Special Collections and Archives Division of the Miami-Dade Public Library System presents Voices from Florida, a monthly series about Florida's culture, literature, history, and communities.
About the Division of Special Collections & Archives
Miami-Dade Public Library System’s Division of Special Collections & Archives holds rare and irreplaceable historical documents for the benefit of the public and scholarly community. They oversee the Helen Muir Florida Collection, 16mm Film Collection, Cuban Collection of Rare Books & Ephemera, genealogy, Vasari Project, and rare & antiquarian books from as early as the 17th century. The Division's primary goal is to provide the public with the contents of the vault at their request. Its collections include rare books, original manuscripts, over 18,000 photographs, prints, artifacts, audiovisual resources, and electronic media.
