2 min readAug 12, 2024
  1. Honoring the life of Sgt. Billy Randolph: We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own, Sgt. Billy Randolph #2797 who lost his life in the line of duty while courageously serving our community. To honor Sgt. Billy Randolph’s life and public service to Fort Worth, I requested Governor Greg Abbot to fly the state capital flags at half-staff. Sgt. Randolph, who served with the Fort Worth Police Department for 29 years, was a devoted father, husband, brother, son, and friend. Today more than ever we are reminded of the sacrifices, selflessness, and bravery of our first responders. Please join me in praying for Sgt. Randolph’s family, friends, and the entire police department.
  2. FY2025 Proposed Budget Discussions: The City Manager is set to present the recommended FY2025 budget to the Fort Worth City Council on Tuesday morning. Budget discussions will continue with City Council meetings through September before the budget is finalized by Oct. 1.
  3. City Council: There will be a City Council Meeting including the Zoning Hearing on Tuesday night. Preview the agenda.
