Overview
Through its Office of Small Business and Innovation, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is partnering with qualified organizations to help individuals navigate the regulatory structure of Minnesota's legal cannabis industry. Through competitively awarded grants, CanNavigate program partners are developing technical assistance resources relevant to the regulatory structure of the Minnesota legal cannabis industry and will provide technical assistance and/or navigation services to individuals. In particular, these grants are intended to serve individuals from communities that have historically experienced a disproportionate, negative impact from the enforcement of cannabis prohibition.
Through this program, individuals seeking to start or grow a business in the legal cannabis industry will have access to timely high-quality information and regulatory navigation services from trusted experts and community-based organizations. Lending regulatory expertise in areas such as legal, accounting, and financial services, guidance from CanNavigate partners will help individuals make sound business decisions and comply with regulations as they seek to enter and grow the legal cannabis industry in Minnesota.
This program is supported by Minnesota State General Funds through 2023 Minnesota Regular Session Laws, Chap. 63, H.F. No. 100, Art. 3, sec. 2 [116J.6595], subd. 1.
