The Climate Emergency Response Plan Engagement is now closed.

Thank you to everyone who took part.

The engagement findings report is available to view at the bottom of this page.

Your views are really important and what you have told us will be used to help shape the draft Climate Emergency Response Plan 2025-2030 for the borough, which will then be shared for public consultation later this year.

Climate change is an ongoing challenge for communities worldwide, including here in west Cheshire. Lots of action is already taking place in the area to help address our changing climate, but even more needs to be done.

We want to work alongside our communities to understand the opportunities and challenges we face as we work towards creating a greener, healthier and more resilient borough.

Building on the Council’s current Climate Emergency Response Plan, this is the start of a process to design a new Plan for how the Council will support the borough to reach net zero by 2045.

Following discussions with a range of Council services, we have come up with some themes and proposed priorities for the new plan. Some of the proposed priorities are new ideas, and some have come from the existing Climate Emergency Response Plan. We would like to understand people’s views on them and if there is anything else that should be included in the new Plan.

How to share your views

Please share your views on what should be included in the new Climate Emergency Response Plan by:

  • Completing a survey or sharing your ideas on our ideas boards - you can give your views on all six themes on the titles below, or just the ones you are interested in.
  • Sharing what climate action you have taken or seen across the borough on our interactive map. You can also share what you would like to see take place in the future.
  • Attending a drop-in session to talk to the Climate Change team and give your views. You can find more information here.

This engagement exercise will be open until Sunday, 1 September 2024.

How your feedback will be used

Your feedback will be used to help shape a new draft Climate Emergency Response Plan, which will then be shared for public consultation later this year. Following this, the new draft Plan will be reviewed again, taking into account consultation feedback prior to being presented for approval to full Council in early 2025.
