2500 Wilson Blvd Public Space Engagement
Note: The private development team has created the presentation, materials, and narrative.
They are seeking your feedback on the final draft design between now and May 20, 2025.
Project Background
The site is located at 2500 Wilson Boulevard and is bordered by Wilson Boulevard, Clarendon Boulevard, North Barton Street, and North Cleveland Street. It currently includes a five-story office building with ground-floor retail and both surface and covered parking. There is a public space area on the southern portion of the site; however, this space is not currently accessible to the public and is elevated above the sidewalk due to the underlying parking garage. This area also features a permanent piece of public artwork which is part of Arlington County’s art collection.
The proposed residential development will consist of a building up to 14 stories tall, containing 296 housing units and approximately 18,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. A new underground parking garage will be constructed to serve both the residential and retail components. The design will include public space in roughly the same location as the existing area, with enhancements and a new public access easement to ensure community use.
Public space is called for as part of the Courthouse West Special GLUP Study, which is the guiding study document for the site.
In January 2025, community members provided feedback on the site plan application. You can find more information about that engagement, including the original presentation materials and summary of comments heard, here.
