Climate Pollution Reduction Grants logo

The Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) program provides nearly $5 billion in grants to states, local governments, tribes, and territories to develop and implement ambitious plans for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other harmful air pollution. Authorized under Section 60114 of the Inflation Reduction Act, this two-phase program provides $250 million for noncompetitive planning grants, and approximately $4.6 billion for competitive implementation grants.

Announcements

January 10, 2025 - The PCAP Directory presents searchable and downloadable data collected from 211 state, Municipal Statistical Area, Tribal, and Territorial Priority Climate Action Plans (PCAPs) submitted to EPA in 2024 as the first CPRG planning grant deliverable. The directory is designed to help CPRG planning grantees identify and leverage approaches within PCAPs to support the development of their Comprehensive Climate Action Plans (CCAPs)

The Federal Funding Resource Opportunities Table on the CPRG Training, Tools and Technical Assistance  page contains examples of currently available funding opportunities by key economic sectors. This list is not exhaustive, but may help CPRG planning grantees and other interested state, local, Tribal, and territorial entities identify potential funding sources for greenhouse gas reduction measures (Updated December 23, 2024)

November 8, 2024 – EPA has awarded over $4.3 billion to 25 state, local, and Tribal recipients under the CPRG Implementation Grants General Competition and is working to award an additional $300 million to the 34 selected applications under the CPRG Tribes and Territories Competition. Together, these 59 grants will implement community-driven solutions to tackle the climate crisis, reduce air pollution, and accelerate the clean energy transition. Learn more about the selected applications under the the General Competition and for the Tribes and Territories Competition.
