Florida Storm Ready

Hurricane season is here, and we are ready

We're working hard for you

When storms strike, Duke Energy will be there to get the power back on as safely and quickly as possible.

Better response

We’re investing in new digital grid technology that improves response and restoration times by identifying potential issues and rerouting power to avoid outages. This same technology provides us with information that helps us restore power quickly when outages do occur – and it enables the grid to support more renewable energy sources.

A more resilient grid

We want your service to be as reliable as possible in every kind of weather. That's why we're replacing poles, upgrading equipment and using advanced analytics to identify power lines most vulnerable to outages, and relocating them underground. All of these efforts create a more reliable, hardened and resilient grid that is more resistant to storm damage and other physical and cyber threats.
