Arlington County Government offices and facilities are closed on all federal holidays except Columbus Day.
Parking
- Permit parking is always in effect unless specifically noted on the sign.
- Meters are not enforced on Federal holidays, including Columbus Day or on County holidays (dates listed below)
- All other violations will be enforced.
- Some parking restrictions may apply during special events. Motorists should look for temporary “no parking” signs.

*In general, if a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday will be treated as a holiday and if a holiday falls on a Sunday the following Monday will be treated as a holiday.
**Presidents' Day is not observed as a County holiday in fiscal years when there is a Presidential election.
***Election Day is observed every four years for Presidential Elections.
