The fiber optic installation industry is currently experiencing significant growth, driven by the increasing demand for high-speed internet and data transmission, with market forecasts indicating a substantial rise in coming years.
A well-trained Fiber Optics Technician is in demand in today’s job market. A fiber optics technician maintains fiber optic cable systems that carry both voice and digital transmissions. Fiber optics technicians splice and fuse fibers, and install cables beneath the ground and in the different parts of building structures so that they can be used for telecommunications and other forms of communication.
The Certified Fiber Optics Certificate programs prepare you to take the (Certified Fiber Optics Technician exam (CFOT), the Certified Fiber Optics Specialist/Splicing (CFOS/S) exam, and the Certified Fiber Optics Specialist in Testing (CFOS/T) exam, which are each administered at the end of the training or the following morning. Note: Students must pass both the written and hands-on portion of each exam to successfully pass the course.
Each exam is sanctioned by the FOA (Fiber Optics Association). The FOA is an international, non-profit organization that certifies fiber optic technicians, approves fiber optic technician training courses, and participates in the development of standards for the industry. Our curriculum allows even novice fiber optic students the opportunity to learn how to be fiber optics technicians.
All materials and certification testing are included in your tuition. Lunch is on your own each day.
