QHP Directory Pilot

Qualified Health Plan Directory Pilot

CMS Qualified Health Plan Directory Pilot

As part of its ongoing work to improve access to care, reduce clinician burden, and support interoperability throughout the health sector, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), specifically the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) and Office of Healthcare Experience and Interoperability (OHEI), announced on September 17, 2024, a partnership with the state of Oklahoma on a first-of-its-kind directory pilot. One goal of this pilot is to develop an automated, single, statewide directory for Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) and providers in Oklahoma to improve data accuracy, lessen burden on providers and payers, lower administrative costs, support interoperable data exchange, and ultimately improve patient and provider experiences. CMS believes that this pilot will serve as a learning opportunity and may help inform any future development of a National Directory of Healthcare (NDH) that can serve as a centralized database for provider information. For questions, please contact QHPDirectorypilot@cms.hhs.gov

CMS has created additional resources for the pilot, including a Fact Sheet (PDF),   Frequently Asked Questions (PDF),  QHP Directory Pilot Toolkit (PDF), and User Guide (PDF). The Toolkit contains a pre-drafted newsletter insert, which provides an overview of the pilot to educate and support providers/users in their participation. The User Guide provides instructions for users on how to access and navigate the portal, guidance on reviewing and verifying provider and facility data, and tips for troubleshooting.

CMS has also posted an Introductory Webinar that provides an orientation to the portal, reviews user expectations, and covers how to log in and how to verify information.

Providers and organizational administrators (or their delegates) in Oklahoma can access the pilot below.
