Army's 250-Year History Through Artwork at the Pentagon

More than 30,000 people bustle around the rings and corridors of the Pentagon daily, looking for an office or a food court — barely noticing the walls of its more than 6 million square feet of space. However, adorning those walls are works of art, displays and memorials, a large majority of which depict Army campaigns dating back to the service's founding 250 years ago, on June 14, 1775. You can see more of the military history on display by taking a Pentagon guided tour.

An Eye-Opening Experience

1/17

Artwork depicting the Army and other service branches adorns the hallways of the Pentagon's A-ring, second floor, between corridors 1 and 9. The Pentagon offers guided tours for those who would like to experience the artwork in person.
