The DoD Digital OnRamp Platform is a solution, designed to connect private sector organizations to DOD opportunities, while also making private sector capabilities discoverable by Department of Defense (DOD) users. The Platform will bridge the knowledge gap and provide a demand signal from the DOD to commercial/academic technology communities. Leveraging the latest advancements in Generative AI technologies, this platform aims to simplify and enhance the process of matching private sector capabilities with DoD opportunities, and vice versa.
As a matching tool for commercial technology and the department, we are seamlessly and securely integrating data sets to help the commercial sector find the best fit for their technology matched to a defense need with the training and support needed while also making commercial and academic solutions visible to department employees trying to solve a mission problem," - Cheryl Ingstad, DIU deputy director of digital platforms and developer ecosystem.

The platform seeks to help large, medium and small companies, disruptive startups, university professors and students – all who may find it difficult to identify the right DOD opportunities for their technologies, despite having unique and innovative product offerings of interest to the DOD. Even after finding the right opportunity, private sector organizations can struggle with responding successfully to DOD requirements, which can be challenging without the proper guidance and support. The Digital OnRamp Platform addresses both of these problems by providing a matched opportunity, the aligned online training and a direct connection to a regional office for human support.
For DOD professionals who need to research private sector capabilities, this platform serves as an effective and secure means to engage, assess, and identify options to acquire commercial technologies. The latest AI/ML/LLM technology will be employed with a growing number of DOD and commercial data sets to deliver valuable results with speed.
