Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino and Office of Veterans Affairs Director Adam Roche proudly invite residents to apply for the County’s “Honor a Veteran” program, through which family, friends, and Dutchess County honor a deceased veteran at monthly ceremonies, held from April through November, in recognition of their service to their country.
To be eligible for this honor, the veteran must be deceased for at least 30 days, served in the United States armed forces with an honorable discharge, listed as missing in action, or died while serving in the military. Wartime and peacetime service is eligible, and there are no specific services dates or length of service requirements for a vet to be honored.
Applications are available online or at the Dutchess County Office of Veterans Affairs, located at 1335 Route 44 in Pleasant Valley.
Thank you for your support of the “Honor A Veteran” program. We look forward to recognizing the sacrifices of the many heroes who protected Dutchess County.
