BTS Data Release: Air Travel Consumer Report (ATCR), December 2024 & Full-Year 2024 Numbers ATCR includes airline operational data compiled for the month of December 2024 and calendar year 2024 for on-time performance, mishandled baggage, mishandled wheelchairs and scooters, and oversales. ATCR is designed to assist consumers with information on the quality of services provided by airlines. For December 2024, 0.7% of flights were cancelled, higher than the 0.4% cancellation rate for December 2023. Overall in 2024, 1.4% of flights were cancelled, higher than the 1.3% cancellation rate in 2023. https://lnkd.in/efechYw4

BTS Data Release: December 2024 U.S. Airline Traffic Data Up 5.9% from December 2023 U.S. airlines carried 83.3 million systemwide (domestic and international) scheduled service passengers in December 2024. BTS reported 72.1M domestic passengers and 11.2M international passengers on U.S. airlines flights in December, not adjusting for seasonality. BTS Data Release: U.S. Airlines’ January 2025 Fuel Cost per Gallon up 4.2% from December 2024; Aviation Fuel Consumption down 0.6% from Pre-Pandemic January 2020. https://lnkd.in/eHRK_h3e In January 2025, the U.S. airline industry' average fuel cost was $2.42 per gallon, which is 4.2% increase from December 2024. Airlines also used 1.453 billion gallons of fuel in January 2025, which is 8.9% less fuel than in December 2024.
