Today, the U.S. Department of State hosted a commercial space roundtable with industry executives to listen to valuable private sector insights and discuss how the U.S. government can facilitate the growth and success of the U.S. commercial space sector. #SpaceDiplomacy
On April 30th, the U.S. Department of State hosted a Commercial Space Roundtable focused on American Leadership and Prosperity in Space. This session convened leaders from prominent U.S. space companies and trade associations with representatives from relevant U.S. government agencies, including the State Department, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the U.S. Department of Commerce. 🌐 U.S. commercial space activities have rapidly expanded in the last decade and now comprise one-third of the global space economy. As the space environment evolves and strategic competition grows, the innovation of the U.S. commercial space sector is more critical than ever. This roundtable was an opportunity for private sector leaders and government representatives to identify ways the State Department can improve its advocacy and support for the U.S. commercial space sector globally, reinforcing America’s leading role in the modern space age. Strengthening collaboration between the U.S. government and the commercial space industry is essential for ensuring continued American leadership and advancing our shared interests in a secure, stable, and prosperous space environment.
