#Apprenticeships are the cornerstone of President Trump’s workforce strategy, and #cybersecurity is one of the most urgent national workforce challenges. I was honored to join the launch of the DC Tech Hub Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Program at the University of the District of Columbia. This apprenticeship program serves as a model for how collaboration between industry and education can build robust talent pipelines for our nation’s most critical industries. President Trump’s Executive Order makes clear that emerging technology fields, such as cybersecurity, are priority sectors, and this program brings that policy to life on the ground to build the pipeline of skilled talent needed to defend our digital infrastructure. Thank you to Julie Sweet/Accenture, Murali Vullaganti/PeopleShores, and President Maurice Edington/University of the District of Columbia for your leadership in establishing this new apprenticeship hub. The U.S. Department of Labor is committed to expanding the proven model of apprenticeships, including exploring opportunities to streamline the registration process and improve the value proposition for Registered Apprenticeships, to provide more opportunities for American Workers.

Today, the U.S. Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) rescinded a 2022 compliance release that discouraged fiduciaries from including #cryptocurrency options in #401(k) retirement plans. By rescinding the 2022 guidance, DOL reaffirms its neutral stance, neither endorsing, nor disapproving of, plan fiduciaries who conclude that the inclusion of cryptocurrency in a plan’s investments are appropriate. The now rescinded 2022 guidance directed plan fiduciaries to exercise “extreme care” before adding cryptocurrency to investment menus. This language deviated from the requirements of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and marked a departure from DOL's historically neutral, principled-based approach to fiduciary investment decisions. https://lnkd.in/ewbZh3si
