Zachary Alexander Kinnell, 23, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release. From July 28, 2022, and continuing through August 3, Kinnell and co-conspirator Brian Thornel Elzey, traveled through Maryland and Virginia robbing fast-food restaurants. The co-conspirators robbed 11 fast-food restaurants for a total of $3,555.01. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) - Baltimore Field Office, Montgomery County Police Department, and Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office investigated this case. Today, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland unsealed two indictments. The indictments charged a South Carolina man with defrauding Medicare through a laboratory test scheme during the COVID-19 pandemic and with defrauding customers of his private charter jet company. The U.S. Department of Justice - Criminal Division, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) - Baltimore Field Office, HHS Office of Inspector General and Office of Inspector General, U.S. Department of Transportation investigated this case. United States District Judge Stephanie A. Gallagher sentenced Llyod Linwood Comer, 63, of Brandywine, Maryland, to 41 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release — with the first seven months on home detention — for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud, passport fraud, identity theft, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. The U.S. Department of State, Diplomatic Security Service and Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General – Philadelphia Field Division investigated this case.
