In El Paso, USCIS coordinated with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to apprehend a Jamaican national for marriage fraud. The alien admitted to entering the marriage to evade our immigration laws and was taken into custody.

Seeking asylum while having criminal convictions is foolish. Our Newark asylum office contacted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to remove two aliens from the country after discovering they had previous assault, receiving stolen property, and property damage convictions. A Mexican national arrested on two separate occasions for unlawful possession of a weapon and prohibited weapons/devices with disorderly conduct attempted to seek benefits at USCIS’ Newark asylum office. We denied him benefits and helped facilitate his arrest.

A Liberian national came to our Minneapolis-St. Paul office for a naturalization interview while having an active warrant for failure to appear in court for a DUI charge. USCIS worked with local law enforcement who took the alien into custody and off our streets.

A Colombian national applying for a Green Card showed up at the USCIS Kendall field office where officers discovered he had a final order of removal dating back to July of 2004. Immediately our officers contacted @ICEgov and facilitated the apprehension.
