Washington's population is aging and demand for long-term healthcare workers is rising, with 97% of facilities struggling to recruit staff. To help meet this need, we launched a campaign called Be the Reason to raise awareness and shift perceptions about long-term care careers. This campaign was funded by the 2023 Legislature. This initiative focuses on attracting talent to rural and underserved areas where skilled professionals are most needed. Our outreach includes social media, video ads in English and Spanish and more.
