Oregon DMV Express Kiosks

What do I need? 

  1. Oregon driver's license, instruction permit, or ID card (which you can scan or type into the machine).
  2. Insurance information.
  3. Payment method (use credit card, debit card or cash at kiosks that accept cash). 
  4. Items for your transaction:
    • Registration Renewal: Bring the renewal notice sent to you by DMV or your current registration card.

The kiosk can:

  • Renew and print your vehicle's registration card and stickers. 
  • We will guide you through the transaction in English or Spanish and with an audio guide and wheelchair accessible controls.

The kiosk cannot:

  • Update your address. 
  • Conduct other transactions. For other transactions, visit a DMV office or log on to DMV2U


FAQs





​In addition to the renewal fee​, a vendor transaction fee of $4.95 is charged for each transaction. Oregon DMV does not collect or benefit from the transaction fee.  ​

​You can renew the following vehicle types at a kiosk:

  • Passenger vehicles (can include buses registered as passenger vehicles).
  • Motorhomes.
  • Low-speed vehicles.
  • Medium-speed electric vehicles.
  • Heavy fixed-load vehicles.
  • Motorcycles.
  • Mopeds.
  • Light trailers.
  • Travel trailers.
  • Campers.
  • Special-use trailer.
  • Light fixed load.
  • Heavy fixed-load trailer.​


  • ​Customers with a registration expired for less than one year can use the kiosk to renew their registration. 
  • Customers with a registration expired more than one year are not eligible to use a kiosk. They should be directed to DMV2U, where they can renew up to 120 days before and any time after their registration expires.

If you renew at an Oregon DMV Express Kiosk, your registration card and license plate stickers will print immediately. Stickers printed from a kiosk will include your license plate configuration. This option is only available at a kiosk. The stickers you receive when renewing by mail or at a DMV office will have an inventory number instead. 

​Yes, you can use the kiosk to renew your vehicle registration. You must pass an emission test before renewing. You can go to DEQ’s website​ to find a testing location. 

You can purchase and load the amount for your transaction (plus fee) on a prepaid Visa, Discover, Mastercard or American Express card.
