A Journey to Nourish your Soul + Wellbeing

The Aspire Higher Foundation is transforming the Near Northwest Area of Indianapolis into a vibrant hub of community connection and well-being. Picture this: a cozy corner store and café just steps from your home, where you can stroll over to meet friends, sip on a perfectly brewed cup of tea, and savor a buttery, flaky croissant.

Introducing Bloom + Brew Community Marketplace—our exciting new project designed to bring people together around the things we all cherish most: delicious, affordable food and a welcoming space to connect, relax, and thrive. This retail incubator will be more than a marketplace—it’ll be a place where neighbors become friends, ideas bloom, and everyone feels seen and supported.

With your support, we’ll create a dynamic community asset that nurtures both body and soul, redefining what’s possible in our neighborhood. Let’s build this together!

Why Bloom + Brew Community Marketplace?

In many under-resourced urban communities, access to fresh, nourishing food and safe spaces for mental health and well-being is far too rare. Residents often face daily challenges that deepen cycles of hunger, stress, and isolation. Bloom + Brew is here to change that—right in the heart of our neighborhood.

This self-sustaining social enterprise will offer wholesome food and drinks crafted with love from the harvests of Aspire Higher gardens and other local farms. But it’s more than just a café; it’s a sanctuary. A tranquil environment where neighbors can recharge, reconnect, and rebuild a sense of hope.

By bringing back the essentials of human support—good food, community, and care—this space is designed to nourish both body and soul, providing the foundation for a healthier, stronger, and more resilient neighborhood. Together, we can prevent hunger and hopelessness and create a brighter future for everyone.

Offering food and wellness to nourish the soul.

The Connections Cafe will be transformative in three ways

1) by creating a fresh marketplace to sell the creations made from the RyZe Kitchen at Aspire House: think herbal smoothies, soul-satisfying soup, or immune-boosting cookies made with garden-grown ginger.

2) by reaching youth, seniors, and everyone in between with a place to receive wellness support at no cost

3) by replacing an under utilized vacant lot at the corner of Rader and Udell Streets with a fresh new neighborhood food asset, shared by all.

This is how we build wellness and neighborhood pride at the same time!

Funding from this campaign will be used to build this new structure right next to our Art Therapy studio. With your help, we can make it real: to open a space that serves healthy eats, that’s also a place to be heard and be vulnerable, giving people permission to receive the help they need, find healthy nutritious meals, and make a stronger community in the process.

Will You Join Us in Doing Something Great?

So many of you supported our efforts to renovate historic Firehouse #23 into a vibrant community space in the Northwest Landing neighborhood. With your help, Aspire Higher Foundation can once again serve neighbors who need to know someone cares. In 2026, we can throw open the doors to Connections Cafe and welcome kids, seniors, parents, and teens to a space where they can get immediate, consistent support right in their own neighborhood, while providing walkable healthy food options.

After decades of inequity, to make the Near Northwest a health-invested neighborhood, and blaze new paths to wellness for Black and Brown people — we need Connections Cafe as our very own resource!

If we reach our goal of $50,000, your donation will be matched by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) -- but we only if we meet our goal.  We need YOUR help!

THANK YOU for donating here ... and for spreading the word on social media using the "share" buttons under the title. Giving at any level counts!
