The Office of Child and Family Services and the Maine Children’s Trust are pleased to announce the next webinar in our 2025 Prevention Webinar Series. As indicated in Maine’s Child Safety and Family Well-Being Plan, economic and concrete supports like food, housing, health care, child care, clothing, diapers, transportation, education, paid leave, and cash assistance reduce stress and promote family stability. Meeting these basic needs allows parents and caregivers to better support their well-being and their children’s. Federal and state programs provide support statewide and at a systems-level, but communities also play an important role. Strengthening economic and concrete supports must be accompanied by efforts to ensure that families know what support is out there, understand what they might be eligible for, and are comfortable seeking that support. During this webinar, we will explore some Maine specific resources for meeting the needs of families and share how we can all engage and partner with parents and caregivers to ensure they are aware of these resources.
