City of Tucson Budget Engagement Town Halls

The City of Tucson is in the process of developing the Fiscal Year 2026 budget, which will take effect July 1, 2025. Mayor and Council, along with City staff, encourage residents to participate in shaping the budget by attending upcoming town hall meetings and completing the budget engagement survey.

Second Planning Commission Public Hearing Rescheduled for Plan Tucson

The Planning Commission has rescheduled the March 19, 2025, public hearing due to a lack of quorum. It will now host the second of two required Public Hearings on the Plan Tucson 2025 Revised Draft on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at City Hall Mayor and Council Chambers.

Public Comment Encouraged for Review of City Magistrate

The City of Tucson Magistrates Merit Selection Commission is reviewing applications for reappointment of City Magistrate Geraldine Hale. Public participation is welcome and encouraged from those who have had direct experience with the magistrate’s
courtroom. All comments should be submitted in writing by 5 p.m., Monday, April 21.

Community Corridors Tool Code Amendment Adopted by Mayor and Council

Tucson’s Mayor and Council held a public hearing on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, to consider the Community Corridors Tool (CCT) code amendment. After deliberation, the amendment to the Unified Development Code (UDC) was officially adopted, effective April 17, 2025.

City of Tucson Celebrates Amazon Flats Groundbreaking

The City of Tucson’s Housing and Community Development Department (HCD) will held a groundbreaking ceremony at Amazon Flats, transforming the former Amazon Motel into permanent supportive housing units for very low-income households. When the City operated the motel as a shelter for 15 months, 140 people found temporary housing and 86 of those individuals moved into permanent housing.
