Walking, we don't think much about it. It just gets us from point A to point B. But now, an NSF-invested team of engineers at Florida Atlantic University has developed a way to glean important clues about our brain's health from how we walk. The research specifically targets older individuals and the early detection of mild cognitive impairment, or MCI, that sometimes can lead to Alzheimer's. Until now, memory testing has been the traditional method of detecting MCI in older adults.
