Speech therapist Alisha Kleindel explains how to do spaced retrieval, an evidence-based memory strategy for mild to severe cognitive deficits. How to do spaced retrieval: 1. Ask a simple question ("Where are we right now?") 2. Teach the correct answer ("At University Hospital") 3. Ask the question again in 15 seconds 4. If the patient answers correctly, double the time to 30 seconds 5. If correct, double the time to 1 minute.
