Inclusionary Practices | OSPI
"Inclusion is the future, and we have a choice to make that change now. Where do we want to be when we look back in history?" reflected Kim Broomer, Ruby Bridges Elementary teacher and 2025 Washington state Teacher of the Year. Launched in 2019 and supported by funding from the Legislature, inclusionary practices are a statewide effort to build the capacity of all educators and education partners to meaningfully include every student and foster a sense of belonging. This starts with increasing access to core instruction in a general education setting.
