Join me for our February 3rd update on Oregon's 83rd legislative session. We talk about SB 466 my bill for Oregon Summer Star and the wonderful testimony by those that want to see this military impacted youth camp continue. We dive into some of our other bills regarding land use planning. SB 462 requires standardized training for building planners. SB 464 This bill was born out of tragedy. When a fire took the life of their daughter and grandchildren in the family home, this family was told it would take more than two years to get the permits to begin the clean up and rebuild of the home that had stood since 1977. Much of the delay due to lack of ability to locate the original building permit. It didn’t matter that it existed and they paid property taxes on that home for all of those years. ...more
